Girls Preparatory School and McCallie School present the GPS/McCallie Upper School Spring Musical, Mean Girls —at GPS Frierson Theater April 19-21.

"Mean Girls: The Musical" is a theatrical adaptation of the popular 2004 teen comedy film, "Mean Girls." With a book by Tina Fey, who also wrote the screenplay for the original film, and music by Jeff Richmond, the musical brings the iconic characters and high school drama to the stage. The story follows Cady Heron, a teenage girl who transfers to a suburban Illinois high school after living abroad with her parents. As she navigates the complexities of high school social hierarchies, Cady becomes entangled with "The Plastics," a clique of popular and ruthless girls led by Regina George. The musical explores themes of friendship, identity, and the consequences of trying to fit in. It combines humor, catchy songs, and a contemporary take on teenage life to deliver an entertaining and thought-provoking experience for audiences. Because of some mature themes, we recommend this musical for audiences 12 and up.
