Supporting Elaine Cotignola’s NYC Marathon Run for Sarcoidosis Research
ONE NIGHT. 26.2 MILES. ONE MISSION.
The Lady Juliana: A Benefit Reading

One night of music and storytelling. One 26.2-mile journey through New York City. And one mission: to turn challenge into something that matters.

Join composer, writer, educator, and marathon runner Elaine Pechacek for a special benefit performance supporting her 2026 TCS New York City Marathon run for Sarcoidosis Research.

Diagnosed with sarcoidosis in 2020, Elaine's journey with the disease has included remission, setbacks, and the unpredictable reality of living with an illness that doesn't always follow the rules. Somewhere along the way, running became part of that story.

What began one race at a time grew into half marathons, 5Ks, 10Ks, trail races, and challenges across the country, dnd now, the biggest starting line yet: the 2026 New York City Marathon.

For this special evening, Elaine is bringing together two enormous parts of her life: running and musical theatre to try to reach her goal of raising $4,000.

The centerpiece of the evening will be a staged reading of a showcase version of Elaine's original musical, The Lady Juliana featuring some of Orlando's favorite talents. The show has previously crossed continents, with productions in the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Now, The Lady Juliana returns to the stage for one special night in support of Sarcoidosis Research and Elaine's journey to the NYC Marathon finish line.

But before revisiting a work from Elaine's own creative journey, the evening will begin by celebrating what comes next.

The opening 30 minutes will showcase some of Elaine's young vocal students, taking the stage as an emerging new generation of musical theatre performers. After decades spent helping singers discover what their voices are capable of, Elaine wanted this night to celebrate not only her own journey as an artist, teacher, and runner but the young artists who will carry musical theatre into its future.

It's an evening about perseverance: through illness, through 26.2 miles, through the uncertainty of an artistic life, and through the simple decision to keep showing up for something you believe in.

Come hear the next generation raise their voices.

Come rediscover The Lady Juliana.

Come help Elaine get to the NYC Marathon starting line and all 26.2 miles to the finish.

One Night. 26.2 Miles. One Mission.
